Second one patents ideas. NOT successful research. I know. I have had successful research that was patented years and years ago by someone who only wrote an idea down on paper. (well you don't patent ideas but "systems" and "inventions" but you don't have to implement the system or build the invention to patent it)
Just think: if this stands, then the first woman to have a succesful cloned baby, if she steps on American soil, then UMich will seize her baby as its property and do horrible tests on it for who knows how long to determine if the process works!
I mean, there's no doctor advertsiing himself as working on clonining on American soil.
