Here the inauguration starts at 3:00 a.m. and the first game, France vs. Senegal, starts at 5:30 a.m.

I am watching the game, the inauguration starts too early and I have school tomorrow so...

Anyone else watching the match?

yeah it is a little weird that his parents let him stay up last night to watch the game... but whatever, graduation is at 6PM so we have time... oh and from his away message it looks as though france lost... does anyone know a link where I can get this info? (not much of a soccer nut... )

[quote]EDIT: What IS the difference between college and university in US

College and University are basically the same thing, but the difference is that a University is made up of different colleges.. for example at New York University there is the [quote]

    > College of Arts and Science

    >\tCollege of Dentistry

    >\tCourant Institute of Mathematical Sciences

    >\tFaculty of Arts and Science

    >\tGallatin School of Individualized Study

    >\tGraduate School of Arts and Science

    >\tInstitute of Fine Arts

    >\tLeonard N. Stern School of Business (i wanted to go here... oh well :hmm: )

    >\tRobert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service

    >\tSchool of Continuing and Professional Studies

    >\tSchool of Law

    >\tSchool of Medicine

    >\tShirley M. Ehrenkranz School of Social Work

    >\tThe Steinhardt School of Education

    >\tTisch School of the Arts

but the weird thing is that some colleges ALSO do this for example BC has [quote]

    > College of Arts & Sciences

    > Graduate School of Arts & Sciences

    > Carroll School of Management (I am going here next year, )

    > Lynch School of Education

    > School of Nursing

    > Graduate School of Social Work

    > Boston College Law School

    > College of Advancing Studies

So in short, I have no clue what the difference between colleges and universities hehehe... oh well

    Andrers,

I was preparing an answer to this question but discovered so many inconsistencies in the use of the term "college" that I stopped. Most people use the terms interchangably, but I always considered a college to be narrower in focus, and often a unit within a university. However, this doesn't always hold true, e.g., Dartmouth College.

College and University are generally used interchangeably.

It's supposed to be a differentiation based upon size of the institution, and whether or not it has multiple focused 'schools' or 'colleges' within it (this would make a university)

however, there are exceptions (dartmouth being the most notable, but the only reason they kept it is so they can say they're the oldest college in the US)

Back on topic, i've found that spanish language TV in the US is replaying the games during a normal timeframe (i'm watching the France game right now)

However, I guess you need to get the spanish channels to see them at normal time.

It kind of sucks that I know they lost already too.

Where's Powerdoc when you need him? Off crying in the corner?

Luckily on mainland Europe the first matches are at 8.30. It´s gonna be a pain during the week though. I have flexible times though so I hope to be able to manage around the matches I want to see. There are, of course, always the ones that are not interesting to me to be working

I will not be able to see the match because i work. Don't have any regret today, the France soccer team lose against Senegal. Without Zidane the french team is a puppy.

This is going to be a tough Cup to watch. Virtually every start time is between 1 am and 5 am CDT. EEEesh. I'll watch some of the late night games, but not the super-early ones. I can't get up before 8 to save my life most mornings (since I'm always up late).

Right now the only game I see myself trying to wake up for is June 7 - England vs. Argentina on ESPN2 (6:25 CDT) That game has drama written all over it - even for a soccer match.

That one sounds really good, I'd love to see the British get their "arses" kicked. But is Argentina still relying on Batistuta, or do they have any up and coming scorers, 'cause he's past his prime...

Knowing that Frogton lost makes me happy. Even though I don't care about "football".

They also have Hernan Crespo, who's pretty damn good. I believe his club team is Lazio in Italy. By most of the accounts I've read, Argentina is a favorite to get to the final four.

The games that start at 5:30 are great for me. I wake up at 6:00, watch the end of the first half, at half-time i take a bath and then I watch the second half while having breakfast. The school bus arrives at 7:30 a few minutes after the game ends.

I won't be able to watch the games tomorrow morning though, I have my SATs.

    Ok, back to practice now.

You have no idea how many hours my roommate and I wasted playing that game last year. Started w/Fifa 98, then he bought 2001 later in the year, but we always played the same teams: Netherlands vs. Manchester United. Good times.
