Telecommunications giant AT&T has completed an expansion of the company?s 3G broadband network in North Texas, making it possible to increase the area's 3G capacity to 500 cell sites in the community, the company said Monday.

Dallas-based AT&T (NYSE: T) tells us the upgrade will allow North Texas customers to experience enhanced voice and data connectivity and performance during peak hours. In other words: fewer dropped calls.

?With AT&T covering more of Texas than any other wireless carrier, we know how important it is to provide our customers in the North Texas area with the best experience possible ? and these network improvements are just one part,? said Adam Vital, vice president and general manager of AT&T in North Texas.

The company invested $850 million in wireless and wireline networks during the first half of 2010
