Can I replace my 3G with a 3GS?

My 3G is on its last leg. My brother has a 8 month old 3GS that he doesn't use. I'm buying the 3GS for $40.



Can I just swap out the sim card from my of 3G to the 3GS and everything will work???



As for iTunes, I assume I will have to wipe the phone and reinstall my apps.



Any other things I need to know about?
