Pryamids, Mummies and Tombs

Did anyone catch this on The Learning Channel tonight? Cool stuff, including Chinese pyramids never seen before, and a trick of light under Mexican pyramids worshipped as Gods.

I love Bob Brier, the main Egyptologist for TLC. Certain people like him, "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin, and the Mathmatecia guy from the last Macworld love their chosen fields so much they make me care about them.

I wish I had teachers like them in high school.

Seeing as how I am a TLC and Discovery Channel addict, I saw it. I was kind of disappointed with parts of it though. Another show about pyramids (which incidently, was on one of these two stations) had some video of the pyramid in Mexico that has the snake on the side of it. They sped up a days worth of video so that you could see the snake descend the staircase as the sun moved across the sky. It was very cool. Too bad it didn't make it into this show. I also think the whole "how are the similar? They aren't?" part of the show sucked

Yeah, it was good though. I agree with what you said about wishing you had teachers like that. I had one in high school that actually made me care. Unfortunately, she had multiple aneurisms (sp?) about a month or two into the school year. Her replacement sucked.

Oh well. I suppose that's the way life goes sometimes.

    couple of things:

    1. TLC isn't as good as it used to be, at least during the day thanks to all of this A **** Story. Trading spaces is pretty cool and home again with bob vila is great. I guess chicks like the *** story stuff.

    2. Will there be a re-airing of that pyramid special? I really wanted to see it but forgot about it.

    Thanks!

Looks like Friday starting at 8:00 (I guess that would be 7:00 for you) and easlier in the day on Saturday will be your best bet.

Huh. works for me. Just go <a href="http://tlc.discovery.com/"; target="_blank">here</a>, and click on TLC TV at the top of the left navigation bar.
