I hope Steve chooses WWDC to come back full time. I actually miss the January show they used to have. It was like second-Christmas. January is just boring now.
I hope he never returns. I would gladly give up whatever happiness seeing him on stage brings me in hopes that a restful and stress-free retirement might prolong his life.

I would gladly want him to be happy and enjoy his life, whatever that means he does. If he loves Apple and is happy doing his thing, more power to him.
The transition from work to retirement is sometimes more jarring than the person's previous work.
