WHAT A FVCKING AWESOME MOVIE!!!!!!!!! I LOVE this movie! It's just great...I'm going to buy the DVD ASAP. I have finally found a new favorite movie. When it first came out I didn't think I would like it. It looked really stupid. I had no idea though...my friend loves it too and we watched it at her house. I want to watch it again! This post makes no sense but I'm ecstatic.

You JUST saw it? Man, have you been living under rocks for the past three years?

But yeah, that's a wicked movie.

    Glad you liked it too.

    Damn you both!

The first rule of Fight Club is we don't talk about Fight Club.

I KNOW! I'm only 16 so I'm not sure if I could have appreciated it as much 3 years ago. Even so, I think that this IGN editor puts it right: "Too many people expected a testosterone fest built along the lines of a Bruckheimer film instead of a very daring film with a mean streak and a brain. " I guess it just didn't really appeal to me. I thought it would be stupid to watch a movie about people fighting. I didn't know that the movie really wasn't about that though. I guess I'm just not into the whole "Rocky" type movie. This movie is so dark though. It's so great. Lol, I can't help it. I can see how some people wouldn't like it though. I can imagine some people going to see it because of the whole "violent/people kicking the living sh*t out of each other" thing and just going WTF in their heads the whole time.

i was on such a natural high for months after I saw that movie. It's so anti conformity, anti establishment, etc etc.

The end of it is probably one of the best of any movie. Everything coming down almost got me standing in the movies cheering... I was so damn psyched.

Remember, just because you have seen Fight Club, this does not mean that you are a beautiful and unique snowflake.

I'm a huge fan of that film, really spoke to me in a way that not many movies do, and made a lot of stuff make sense: changed large chunks of my life.

wolfeye155, I can seriously recommend the DVD, but try and pick up the special edition with the two disks: the extras are well worth it.

    For your enjoyment...

    The Rules of Fight Club:

    1) You do not talk about fight club

    2) You do not talk about fight club

    3) When someone says "Stop", or goes limp, the fight is over

    4) Only 2 guys to a fight

    5) One fight at a time

    6) No shirts, no shoes

    7) Fights go on as long as they have to

    8) If this is your first night at fight club, you have to fight.

While I agree the movie was really good and that Edward Norton is one of the best actors out there (check out Primal Fear/American History X), to say that a movie has such an impact...come on. Stand up and cheer? To anarchy and chaos?

I bet you wouldn't have been cheering too much if say it actually happened and your family or whomever was in one of those buildings, now would you?

So why were you so ecstatic over this movie? Cause of the anti-establishment?

I don't mean to insult you or whatever, I just would like to know why. To me it was an entertaining movie and one that I own on DVD. But I feel that American History X and Schindler's List are 2 superior movies...with a more positive message than Fight Club could ever hope to deliver.

Have any of you read the book? It's kind of a hard read after the movie, but it's worth it. BTW, I also loved the movie. Not because it was anti-establishment, but it was very zen. Watch it again.

first off they make it clear that there was no one in the buildings (so its not like you can cheer about that)

At the time it cam eout I was in my last year of college, where everything that was establishment, multinationals, exploitation, evil empire, etc was very 'bad' in my mind.

so, to have such a surprise of a movie where the individual makes such a comeback, where things get shaken up, etc... well, it was just a big 'fvck you' to 'establishment' and by god, I enjoyed every second of it

That's my wife's favorite movie these days. The DVD is great. Best line...

"I wanted to put a bullet between the eyes of every panda that wouldn't screw to save its species."

    Best line on DVD...

"I want to have your abortion."

It's the Taxi Driver of our generation. I have Taxi Driver on DVD too.

Oh yeh, did you guys see all of the Apple stuff? Like when he was taking his computer home from work...or when they blew up the computer store. One thing I don't understand is why were all the computers so old? This wasn't a very old movie.... The only thing I can think of is that it was supposed to have happened in his past and that's what he remembered.

Unfortunately the main plot device just didn't come together. That blew everything for me. It wasn't like Sixth Sense where you said "I see" and it all came together. I just said "uh... no." It didn't make any sense.

The movie would have been much better without that "oops, the whole thing is different than you thought" schtick.

It's a certainly a film that arouses very strong opinions, which I think was at least half the idea.

I don't actually think the book is as good as the film (and it's a really short book): the movie is a lot more focused, and keeps the story bouncing along without wandering off. And a lot of the dialogue is way cooler.

Now, go read his book Survivor

Thankfully, it has nothing to do with the TV show.

Then, perhaps, the Irvine Welsh novel The Marabou Stork Nightmares. It really depends on what you can stomach. It is reallly all over the place subject-wise, but there is some really, really horrible stuff in there that many people will be uncomfortable with. You might want to wait a couple years before picking it up.

Chances of even a fragment of your sanity still being intact after reading both are ummm.......zero.

I think Marabou Stork Nightmares is awful, but then I'm of the opinion that Irvine Welsh is massively over-rated.

I keep meaning to stock up on Chuck Palahniuk novels, but the last time I happened to be in a bookstore and remembered, they didn't have any...

Yeah, that's not the best product placement, is it?

Actually, did you notice that the computer store had a stripy Apple logo in the window?

Hummm! Was Steve back in charge while this movie was being made?

By-by old Apple etc. New Mac's would have been Bondi iMac's wouldn't they?

I also recommend the Special edition 2 disk DVD Loads of extras. (Telling you that the stuntman threw himself down the concrete steps about 20 times, then they went and used the first take in the final cut. The fact that they had to leave the amounts out of the nitroglycerin recipe, because the ingredients are correct)

I went to Best Buy and bought the Special Edition 2 Disc Set today! Man I love this movie! I think this is the first time that I've bought a movie the day after I first saw it! I watched it again today. Can't wait to explore the rest of it tomorrow!
