Exploring The Pyramid w/ Probe

Tonight (September 16th) on FOX there's a 2 hour National Geographic special where they're going to re-do something they did back in '93, wherein they run a remote rover up a 200 foot shaft and try to see what's on the other side of a stone hatch with copper handles.



And it's supposed to be LIVE.



8pm EST in the USA

To be re-run in European markets shortly thereafter for our Euro-buddies. Not sure for those in Asia or 'stralia or elsewhere.

    I think it would be cool if that thing rounded a corner and this mummy was standing there growling, and started lumbering toward the camera.

    what a terrible show... an excuse to pay egyptologists to go on TV....



    i really hope noone watched this... they cut to the door everytime they went to a commerical and said "we'll be right back and open the door, so dont go away..."

    After making the announcement myself, I went and missed the whole damned thing. In my defense, it was for my birthday dinner, BUT:



    Could you guys PLEASE reconstruct the entire show for me, tell me EXACTLY what happened? Did the robot work fast? Did it run into problems? Did they get to see beyond the limestone hatch? Did the discover anything (besides advertisers?).



    I can't wait to find out exactly why it was so disappointing!
