Over the past 7000 miles I have tracked my 2002 Civic's milage. I drive 95% highway miles at about 70mph. Under those conditions I get ...





34 MPG



Not too bad for a gas engine.

    I used to get 43mpg in my '90 CRX doing 75mph on the highway. I miss that little car

    Under pristine conditions, 16 city/20 highway.

    I'm just happy it's getting colder and AC is now off!

    I got 11/15 in my Dakota R/T, which was the vehicle I traded in for my Stratus Coupe. It gets 19 or 20 in the city, dunno about highway yet.



    That Dakota sounded kick ass with Flows, but damn the gas mileage sucked!

    I get 17-20 MPG depending on the mix of driving conditions...and not with an SUV.

    In my 2000 Saturn SL2, I get about 20 MPG in the city and as much as 40 MPG on the highway.

    my 97 Saturn wagon gets 25 city and 35 highway

    and my 2001 F150 V8 gets 16 city and 21 Highway

    Hmm...worst gas mileage ever...~8MPG, '79 Ford F-250, flatbed, red and silver. One pimped out engine (460 or 470...can't really remember, nearly 400 HP) that sounded bad ass...but damn here to Council Bluffs (140 miles or so) sucked an entire tank of gas.



    Not that we drive that truck a lot...would go broke.



    '93 Ranger, OTOH, gets 21MPG.



    [EDIT: Forgot to mention that the F-250 used to be a certified school bus, used for transporting football equipment. After that some guy who worked for a concrete company bought it and pimped the engine. Still has a bracket/canister for road flares in it...]

    normal city driving: 15mpg

    normal highway driving: 30-35mpg

    totally off-boost city: 18-19mpg

    "spirited" driving: 6-10mpg



    Hooray for turbo rotaries.





    Worst gas mileage:

    I've been told that the 70 ElDorado had a 500cu in engine and got about 3mpg.

    My 1995 Jeep Cherokee gets 17 m.p.g. city/21 m.p.g. highway.



    It has a 20.2 gallon gas tank meaning I have to shell out about $30 to fill it. :eek:



    But I love my Jeep. It's tons of fun to drive and I added a new XM radio/CD player.



    Plus, it has 4 wheel drive which definitely helps in bad weather (especially since Hollis doesn't plow all of the side roads right away after it snows). In 4 wheel drive (part time), I get 15 m.p.g city/20 m.p.g. highway.

    On a recent road trip in my 2002 Civic (coupe so lower weight probably helps) I covered 290 miles in 3.75 hours (thus averaging 77.3 MPH) and burned 8.05 gallons of gas. Works out to 36 MPG. This was almost all highway mileage, obviously.



    Incidentally, if you exceed 110 MPH the "Maintenance Required" light flashes... nothing to worry about, just Honda trying to sucker you in for some extra cash.

    I've had some single trip measurements of 36 and 38. Once it was 41 but I'm sure that was messed up. I never trust a single tank measurement.

    I get 9 GPH in my Cessna 172.
