That was classic...

Catch a 30+ yard touchdown pass, kneel down, whip a pen out of your sock and sign the football. Ahaha.

I don't like guys that are overly cocky, but you gotta love creativity like that!

the nfl will have a new rule by the end of the week...g

I think he should be banned from the NFL for life for that move. I'm so sick of celebrating players. I almost can't watch a game anymore. It's ridiculous. You see guys celebrating for doing routine things, I mean you are supposed to make a tackle, catch, decent run..... It's just so lame.

my favorite is when i guy really sets a guy down hard and starts to celebrate.....after the other guy's gained 20 yards.

    what a bunch of retards.

sorry, but if i make a great tackle, and they gained 20 yards, i don't think i'd be celebrating.

Not sure if any of you heard but he had made a promise to one of his fans/friends in the stands that if he made a touch down he would sign the ball for them and give it to them. That is why he had the pen in his sock. Don't know if it makes any difference to you, but I doubt he will be doing it every game.

There's no reason he couldn't have had them keep the ball on sideline and autograph it later for his fan/friend. It was a total showboat move and I'm serious I think he should be banned if not at least indefinitely suspended.

Why shouldn't he be able to do that?

    What's wrong with showboating?

These are grown men making millions of dollars, it's not the job of the NFL to make them behave like respectful little boys.

If it takes a really long time, or it taunts the other team excessively or if it's aggressive to others then yeah.

Old white men not knowing how to deal with young black men, that's all this is.

Actually, the NFL does have a "code of conduct" rule that, unfortunately, is not enforced in the slightest. If it were, we would quickly run out of players... or at least get some players that know how to behave like professionals.

I don't follow the sport a whole lot, I see what I see in the media, and it's grown men still acting like children. Whoever that guy was that hit that meter maid... and apparently he has done stuff like that before. And he apologizes to his team and family, yet still failed to apologize to the woman he hit, completely intentionally. Did he get anything more than a fine from the judge? Did the NFL slap him with that 'code of conduct' rule they have and do anything more than tell him how much to make the check out for/

This is the problem, and until someone actually starts enforcing this stuff, be it the NFL or the judicial system, these players are going to think the only penalty for doing anything in life will be writing a check. I mean, shit, it's working out well for OJ...

I don't see how signing a football in the endzone is against any code of conduct. Flipping off the crowd/team/officials, sure. But signing a football in the endzone?

It's unorthodox, yeah, and it's definitely arrogant. But if players started playing like they were apologizing the NFL would be even less exciting than it already is.

Then again, Kyle Turley is probably my favorite football player.

Well, they are playing sports which will bring out the most competitive natures. And you have to be competitive to make it to that level.

I don't know if you're equating the two, I certainly hope not.

An NFL WR hits a meter maid with his car.

A baseball All-Star gets caught smoking crack in a hotel room.

A priest gets caught molesting boys.

Every profession has bad seeds, you can't call Owens out on something Randy Moss did. Randy Moss has been a problem case for years; he wanted to go to Notre Dame but his scholarship offer was pulled because of a race-related brawl he was in. He got kicked off of Florida State's team (Florida State of all places, I forget why but he must have killed someone to get kicked out of Free Shoes University) and ended up with a freaking MAC team (Marshall) before going pro. Jerry Jones of all people passed on drafting him because of his off-the-field problems (Jerry "owner of the Dallas Cokeboys" Jones!).

Moss is a moron, there are players out there who consider themselves thugs (Edgerrin James) that handle themselves better than this fruitcake.

I think he has to go to counselling now and he's on some kind of drug program. I'm not sure how it's being handled.

Randy Moss is a moron, yes, but the fact is he was only slapped with a handful of misdemeanor charges. Not one single team would bench or suspend players for misdemeanors.

Hey, maybe he's tired of fake autographs of his being sold... and he's going to only autograph footballs on TV during games now.

I don't get this statement. Am I a racist because I thought he acted like a jackass? Hey, the first guy to really do anything elaborate that I can remember was a white guy named Mark Gastineau who played for the Jets and did the sack "dance". Thought he was a jackass too and they made a rule against his conduct.

Hey some people might like it, I don't and if I was playing defense against him I'd make sure I put a little extra hurt on him. But you know what, it really doesn't matter except I find myself watching less and less sports and enjoying it less when I do watch.

Of course not, that's not what I said or meant. I'm talking about the hierarchy of the NFL that has a shitfit if a player doesn't tuck in his jersey 30 seconds after it comes untucked.

There are white guys that have been cocky and let it show for years, but the background these black athletes come from takes it to a brand new level.

I see nothing wrong with taunting, trash-talking, celebrating, etc etc... They shouldn't get obscene and shouldn't exchange words with fans or officials, but who are we kidding? This is football, not f-ing golf! At this rate the Ryder-Cup has more spunk!

What is it with all of you fascists? This is America. We have a few things going for us. Freedom of expression is one of them.

If you don't like it, move to Europe. . . or China.

I wonder how long it will take for that ball to make it on Ebay.

I don't think anybody is looking to put Owens in jail over this. Freedom of expression also means that people get to criticize players when they behave like idiots. I'm perfectly okay with what Owens did yesterday. I wasn't okay with it a few years ago when he ran out to the star in the center of the field in Dallas after he scored a touchdown. That one pissed off Emmitt so much that he ran out and tackled him. I didn't blame Emmitt for reacting that way and that kind of highlighted why it was so wrong. Behavior that crosses a line can be counterproductive. Beating the other football team can be hard enough without giving them additional psychological ammunition.

It's not about freedom of expression. He was at work when this happened. Do you have complete freedom of expression at your job?
