hello!

i usually listen to "sadest" songs to know that there are others down.... "i guess i'm just a fool (jay jay johanson)," "without you (harry nilsson)," "painter song (norah jones)," "perfect day (lou reed)," "how (badly drawn boys)," "creep (radiohead)," "time after time (chet baker)," "reason to believe (time hardin)," "across the univer (beatles & also fiona apple)," and so on and so on....

what is your favorite sad song? and what do you do when you are down?

I tend to draw, paint, or write songs. Usually my best crap comes from my worst times

As far as the music, any Sentenced or Katatonia will pretty much do the trick for me. I really can't name just one since I really dig depressing music, but here's a brief list. *grin*

    *quick glance over itunes*

Nevermore: Forever <--That song just makes me stop whatever I'm doing every time I hear it. Soo emotional

Diary of Dreams: Tears of Laughter

    Katatonia: I Am Nothing

    Lacuna Coil: Falling

My Dying Bride: Sear Me mcmxciii

    Rapture: The Great Distance

    Sentenced: No One There

Sopor Aeternus: No One is There

Boy do I feel old. I haven't heard most of these songs. But then I don't listen to "sad" music when I'm down. I put in something more upbeat to get me _out_ of the funk. Lyle Lovett's "That's Right, Your Not from Texas" usually does the trick. Otherwise, Celtic Guitar or Neuvo Muendo.

my favorite "comfort" album is joni mitchell's "blue".... ah, the best.... that plus a fluffy bed and a fluffy cat, and it's a wonderful sadness.

norah jones' "painter song" is pretty sad; as my friend points to about where his heart is and says, "it hits you right here, this song..."

    fiona apple's "get gone." brill!!!iant!!!
