Fox's lo blow

From Salon's Nothing Personal

Fox News anchor Shepard Smith had something fairly egglike on his face last week when he launched into what should have been a straightforward item about tension between Jennifer Lopez and her old Bronx neighbors.

"J.Lo's new song 'Jenny From the Block' is all about Lopez's roots, about how she's still a neighborhood gal at heart," Shepherd declared innocently enough, before veering horribly off his teleprompted script. "But folks from that street in New York, the Bronx section, sound more likely to give her a curb job than a blow job!"

Oops!

Smith was quick to attempt a correction -- "Or a bl-bl-block party!" -- but it was too late. The damage was done, and the poor fellow knew it.

When the cameras switched back to Smith from a clip of Lopez shimmying in song, the anchor had a mighty rueful look on his face.

"Sorry about that slip-up there," he said gravely. "I have no idea how that happened, but it won't happen again."

Forgive and forget, J.Blow?

Dude, I think we all learned a little too much about Mr. Conservative News Anchor's Sex Life. Apparantely, it's not limited to somehow giving blowjobs to girls....

Too many people like him for that to end his career. Besides, it's cable. If that were said on ABC or something like that, he might get a pink slip...but come on folks, it's FOX.

They're probably encouraging stuff like that for all we know.

What an idiot (or what a great typical "FOX" ploy). All the cable channels will eventually be looser on language. With HBO being the top cable channel and has always been censor free they have to...to complete.

Last week Jon Stewart let "shit" slip passed the censors and it hardly made a ripple...

I doubt comedy central gives a shit anymore. a couple seasons ago there was a South Park episode that had the word 'shit' over 1oo times (they even had a little counter in the corner of the screen).

Last night Stewart couldn't say "skull****" though...

    I don't watch South Park...

You don't know anything about FoxNews do you? It's...a "bit" different than "When Animals Attack #45"
