Apple Acquires Nothing Real, makers of Shake and Tremor... Anyone for iComposite?

Apple has confirmed the acquisition of Nothing Real - makers of Shake and Tremor compositing systems. According to a short statement from the company, Apple plans to utilize Nothing Real's technology in upcoming products.

Does anyone know what Nothing Real does, and what benifit it will be to Apple?

Nothing real makes video compositing software, real high end stuff. Not really future hardware but oh well... check out macslash or macrumors for more info.



Shake is used by places like weta digital and many others. I hope apple can provide the kind of support these studios require, this could be a great step for apple or it could bite them in the a** if they piss off a bunch of influential effects houses

The fact that Jobs is the CEO of a leading animation firm (PIXAR) and the CEO of a well-known computer manufacturing company seems to be a wonderfully synergistic positioning for one or both of those companies. FTC rules notwithstanding, that relationship would allow for the "customer" (PIXAR) to instruct the "manufacturer" (APPLE) on what product improvements might be desirable.



First Apple tackled the mid-range film-editing market, next they go for computer animation? Yeah, less likely, but as so many people have noted, it IS interesting that the new iMac is a dead-ringer for Luxo.
