Brilliant simple pop music
Normally I´m listening to more obscure kind of music but sometimes I find some uncomplicated pop music that completly knocks my socks off.
If you ever heard "Genius of Love" by Tom Tom Club before Mariah Carey spoiled the great first time experience of this music piece for millions of people that hadn´t heard it before, then its that experience I´m talking about.
So if anyone have a suggestion for me to achieve that experience here the day before MW please tell me what song you think meet the criteria.
I will suggest a local danish band called Mew. It has been a year since I listened to their CD. I found it again today and its f****** genius. If you want a taste of it say so and I´ll give you the teaser they had on their website (I can´t possible think it is illegal to give away something that they gave away for free themselves just one month ago )

If you're only going to download one, try Dead Girls or Ex Lovers Lover.

<strong>Check out Voltaire: Oh My Goth! Good acoustic-poppy tunes with very dark lyrics.

Oh jeez, well if you're looking for cute/dark pop go nowhere else than <a href="http://www.sukeplow.demon.co.uk/altered/altered.htm" target="_blank">Altered Images</a>!
Loved this band. Pop with a slighlty darker edge. And Claire Grogan was hot (80's hot)...
<strong>I have the Tom Tom Club CD. Better than that is when they play it in the <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000021Y7X/qid=1041909352/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/104-4881418-8814336?v=glance&s=dvd&n=507846#product-details" target="_blank">Stop Making Sence</a> video. But my memory could be faulty.</strong><hr></blockquote>
Makes you realize why David Byrne was better off as part of the Talking Heads than out on his own. To me it seems like Byrne was the strongest creative genuis in that mix, but I think he needed the sense of funk and fun Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz et al provided.
