iMac PCI Card

Hey,

Not sure whether this is the right spot for this but I'm wanting to purchase a new sound card for my computer, the Lynx Aurora 16. It is a pretty high end ad//da converter and it uses AES connection instead of firewire or USB.

It requires a PCI card to connect it though. I'm wondering whether iMacs have this ability or whether there is an adaptor or similar? I read something vaguely about a PCI express adpator or something?

Thanks, Damian

Sound card? Heaven's sake. You can't do that with an iMac, and if you could, it wouldn't recognize it anyway.

There are external PCIe boxes that allow you to use graphics cards with laptops, but those connect via ExpressCard/34, which you also don't have.

There is a PCIe 2.0 adaptor for Thunderbolt coming from Sonnet, which would allow you to connect a sound card to an iMac. You'd have to check if Mac drivers were available for that particular card though or you could use it under Windows.
