They don't even sound they're written by a real person. Nobody outside a PR department talks like that. Straight from Microsoft's "switcher" handbook. But what boggles me is how any editor with four neurons to rub together would let his paper print something like that? Or are these all examples of "right-leaning" papers whose publishers might have had something whispered in their ear by a local Republican honcho?

In my opinion, it's a little early to be sending out robotically spoken letters across the nation in hopes of encouraging support for the Bush Administration again.

Be sure that this happens all the time. But still it needs exposure each time. The "but everybody else is doing it" argument doesn´t work here either.

They know all about it, they've seen it done for years. I'd bet that most newsrooms got the original fax asking folks to do it or making the assignments.

It's called a "seminar campaign." And it was perfected by Democrats. I remember when Republicans started doing a daily broadcast fax in the 80s, and about three people raised their voices until they realized that Dems had been doing it for years.

They won't make a big deal out of it because it's a traditional and valuable propaganda tool of the Democrat party. "But everyone else is doing it" explains why it isn't reported.

Neither party should be doing this. Our system is corrupt. The two parties need to go the way of the dinosaurs before the American Dream can ever truly be achieved.
