... an antitheft op.

The accelerometer & gyroscope of iPad's extrememly senstive.

So why not a setting in SETTINGS that will set off an alarm when -- your choice in seconds -- the iPad is moved in sleep.

The alarm can be turned off with either a passcode or a metricode -- finger/voice/face print.

Thoughts?

There's an app for that. Not sure which exactly, but I've seen it around.

You act as though people don't carry their sleeping iPads around. I don't get how this would ever work.

Well, not unlike WEATHER & STOCKS -- both of which are exasperatingly inexplicable in thier absence on iPad,

but which looks to be remedied with Lion -- which also have 3rd party solutions, I'd rather do things the Apple way.

And I'm sure Apple'd offer that special "Certain Something" along the lines of IDing with the face recognition I mention.

    How would this work?

How would your iPad know it is being moved in its sleep by someone who is not authorized to move it?

Of course, it doesn't work when the device is sleeping...
