Google image search - WTF?

Up until about two weeks ago, I was using Google image search as one of my main teaching tools, using my iPad. Now Google has made this almost useless, by changing the scalable HTML results page into a static web app. Why on Earth?



Is there any way to get the old style image search results page back so I can scale the page?

    Manually switching to google.com, I get this...
