    It's a community design system and has been around for years in Europe from what I can tell. Instead of lodging a design with your lawyers, you lodge it with an EU body.



    It's purely designed to stop people copying your designs, something it did rather effectively in this case.

    Whats even worse is that Samsung already has "prior art" or "community design" back from 2006 that looks VERY close to what Apple is claiming in its "community design".
