Airport 2.Inconsistant

Hello,

i have a powerbook 400 mhz. One of the original ones. I recently bought the new Airport and a brand new airport card. The whole setup is very erratic. I know I am staying within my range and my internet keeps....well...just dying. If i reset the airport or my cable modem sometimes it will come back. Sometimes if I restart the computer it comes back. But mostly it is just a pain in my rear!! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    Are you sure it's an airport problem and not a cable internet problem? Do you have other computers connected to the same cable modem? Have you tried connecting the powerbook directly to the cable modem/router/hub/whatever via an ethernet cable instead of airport? At least you could rule out some non-airport cause that way.

    I think you make a good point but I am pretty sure it is something with the airport. You could be right though. It could be that the airport and the cable internet are not playing right. It seems like the airport is getting bound up or something, it is almost confused.



    What's even more weird is one time I was using instant messanger and instant messanger continued working fine but the internet stopped working completely.
