Anyway, the SSD is in, the fan noise fixed with HDDFanControl.com, very quick. I now have Lion since that's what the shop put on there...seems to run fine.
now I have the thing asking for authentication every time I try to write to the hard drive, but that's another thread. Just wanted anyone reading this to see the SSD/Lion combo is running fine on a 2006 2.16GHz Core 2 Duo (4GB, 10.7.3)
