Updating operating system on Mac OS X

Anyone out there know how far you can upgrade the operating system on a G4? Someone gave one to me, it is my first computer and it is operating Mac OS X version 10.3.9

My roommate who has been on Mac for years thinks it can probably go to Leopard but thought it would be good for me to check the Forums and see who knows what . . .

Would appreciate any info on this one Thank you

"G4" is nowhere near specific enough to be able to tell you anything.

If it's a first-, second-, or third-gen PowerMac G4, a G4 Cube, or a QuickSilver that isn't 867 MHz, Tiger is your maximum.

Anything other than that and Leopard is your maximum.

    If it's a first-, second-, or third-gen PowerBook G4, Tiger's your maximum.

Anything after that and Leopard is your maximum.
