Left hand menu has disappeared

I have lost the left hand margin menu showing Devices, Places; etc.; Clicking 'Computers' or the keyboard shortcut doesn't bring it up. Help~!
Edit: Never mind. Although the keyboard shortcut, or clicking 'Computers' or Home' on the Go menu doesn't work, clicking 'Desktop' or 'Applications' does. Where did I go wrong? What happened to cause this?
