iDVD Problems. Help!

I've got a pretty big problem with iDVD and DVD burning. I'm archiving folklore footage for the Folklore department at my college and I'm using a DV bridge and iMovie to make Quicktime clips to burn onto DVDs. I put together the first "movie" and tried to burn it. iDVD started up fine. I made the DVD interface for the movie. I clicked burn. Everything seemed to work fine for about five minutes. Then, the instant iDVD gets to the "asset incoding" phase of the burn, it stops and ejects the blank DVD (which is supplied by Apple, BTW). The movie is a little over an hour long; iDVD reminded me that the quality of the video would be a bit lower because of this. I can't think of any reason other than a bad disk or too much video, that iDVD should fail like this. What gives? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
