Can a HPNA USB adapter work in OS X?
My group house just got home networking through Earthlink. Since our three computers are all rather far flung, we opted for a solution where we use this thing called a HomePortal to connect all of our computers.
My roommate who ordered the service has a PC, and we're planning on using his computer as the primary computer. For the other two computers (my iMac and another PC), we got two HPNA USB adapters to hook them up to the network via the phone lines.
Looking through the manual, they don't indicate how to make this thingy work through OS X (all given instructions/software are for OS 9). In fact, they say, "OS X is unsupported," but I know that all that means is that they won't give me any support. Doesn't mean it work. So can I make this adapter work natively in OS X (best soution)? Can I make it work just by running Classic (OK solution)? Or will it not work at all (bad solution)?
