halo. i am a great fan of the mac and is currently intending to get an ibook.



i am not a very IT knowlegable person and i hope u will help me with some queries.



1)many ple say the mac is really very slow, is it that sloooowww???



2)they are so many types of movie formats out there like mpeg, rm, dvi, avi etc...

can quicktime handle all these files? if not, can e mac install programs like realone?



3) can winzip be used on the mac????



4) what are some common window applications which can be used on the Mac?



5) lastly, am i making a good choice?

    1) Slow? No, not to me.

    2) Quicktime can read MPEG, .mov, .avi and more. QuickTime does not read Real format files, and RealOne is not yet available for either Mac OS 9 or Mac OS X.

    3) You can use DropZip and Stuffit Expander to create or expand .zip files.

    4) most web browsers, Microsoft Office, almost anything from Adobe and Macromedia, Corel applications, etc.

    5) Yes.
