Penn St. Computer Science Dept. vs. Apple computers

My friend is majoring in Computer Science at Penn St. Main Campus in the fall. They recommend a wintel laptop but he wants a TiBook. I assume he'll be working with VisualBasic.NET, etc. Can he survive in this wintel-centric field with a TiBook? :confused: :confused: <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
