hey folks, someone probably knows what is going on here, but i am at a loss.

co-worker is running OS X.1.4, and our server has just recently been upgraded to Win2K. seems every time he creates a new folder on our server, it is locked to everyone except him. we can change the privileges by hand via the inspector palette, to changes by others.

anyone know if there is a place where new directory access privilege defaults can be set?

thanks for any help!

is this an OSX issue or a win2k issue?

i have a similar setup running at home, but i just fileshare between the two, i don't bother making new folders etc. i'll give it a try when i have some free time, see what i come across.

thanks! really, i'm not sure. we suspect an OS X issue, where the OS X machine applies read only status to any new directories that the machine creates (well, the owner who made the directory can read/write, but that's all).

but it seems that the majority of this stems from when we upgraded to Win2K (and the systems "guru" seems at a loss).

like i said, the owner can edit the directories easily enough, but it is a royal pain.
