The size of my Outlook Express identity ? keeps growing. It's currently at 1.4GB, and it doesn't matter how many of the e-mails I delete, the size of the file keeps growing!

You can try rebuilding the index file.
Warning: if you have a lot of messages it will take a VERY long time to rebuild.
To rebuild the index file hold down the option key while starting Outlook until the rebuild index dialog comes up.
On my old G4 450 with about 30,000 messages I think it took about 4 hours to rebuild the index (this was a couple of years ago so I might have the number of messages or time required wrong)
Best to be prepared to let it run overnight. You cant do anything else on the computer while it is running and I don't believe there is a cancel button.
