Thunderbolt Firmware 1.1 update bricked mbp
Just letting you guys know to watch out for the thunderbolt 1.1 firmware update. Today it bricked my mbp motherboard (early 2011 2.2 sandybridge 15"). Luckily I have some warranty left and they are fixing it for free.
The apple genius said he saw a few that have reported that.
Just letting you guys know to watch out for it. At the very least make sure you're completely backed up before attempting it.

Thanks for the warning. Apple should really offer a simple roll-back option for this. They do have firmware images that can be used to roll-back firmware but it's not much good if you don't have one after applying the update. Just an auto-revert on detecting failure would be sufficient.
