Eek! Lost the 'x' on the tabs in Safari!

What do I do? All of a sudden, the little 'x' marks to eliminate tabs have gone away completely. I didn't change any Preferences, as far I as I remember. It just happened.

I looked around to fix it, but I couldn't.

I know I'm an idiot. But what is the easy way to fix this problem?

Thank you.

If you hover the cursor over the lower left corner of the tab, where the X should be, does it appear? If so, I believe this is normal behavior. If not, I would do a quick reset of safari... Safari>Reset Safari , check all the boxes, and hit reset. If that doesn't work you may have to dig into where the .plist files are located in safari.

The "reset" works, but I didn't get the tabs back until I restarted the computer. I also did not reset everything in the dialog box. I had read on another post to only check the following: clear history, clear downloads, close all Safari windows, and reset all location warnings--that worked for me.
