I have a 20" AppleVision Monitor with a built-in microphone, but i cannot figure out how to use the microphone. Maybe i'm dumb. I plugged in the keyboard and mouse thing from the monitor to the computer.

there should be a audio out port on the monitor somewhere that would the plug into the audio in on your machine.
outside of that not sure where the output would be.
if nothing else, check the specs on the monitor from the manufacturer's webpage.
