I noticed that my iBook starts up kinda slow in OS X. It always gets stuck when it is "initializing network." Does anyone know how to make my networks load faster? If that loads faster then this iBook will start of faster for sure.
How do you access the internet? Dial-up, DSL (static or PPPoE?), cable, LAN, etc?
If you're on a dial-up or PPPoE scenario and you have any sort of network synching (network time server, etc.) or internet file sharing (web sharing, file sharing over IP, ftp, etc) turned on, you'll have to wait at that point for your system to dial and connect, which can sometimes be time consuming. I had the same problem and when I switched from a PPPoE DSL provider to a cable modem, it stopped pausing there.
