Help! Drives and busses and boot issues, oh my!

Beige G3/333 here. My human is trying to hook up an external SCSI drive to me to use for extra space and what not. However, I boot from an internal ATA drive and whenever he plugs the SCSI drive into me, I boot from the SCSI drive instead. I don't want to do this! Help my human figure out how to have me boot from the ATA while the SCSI is still hooked up. The hard drive will be the only thing on the SCSI controller.

Thanks!

    try the following.

boot with only the ata drive attached, go to control panels and select the startup drive.

then shut down the computer and reboot with the scsi drive plugged in.

otherwise you can hold down the option key while booting to select the boot drive (at least in OSX) try that.

Thank you, it worked like a charm! My human and I are very happy now.
