*** Posting guideline change
From now on, all threads regarding purchasing advice should be posted in General Discussion. While some of these threads ask a specific question, and they are looking for help, the slower traffic in the Genius Bar seems to have these otherwise good threads sinking down the page in no time.
Also, they end up giving us some good information about the different hardware being compared. We used to get some nice lengthy discussions (the G3 iBook vs. G4 PowerBook thing, etc), but that hasn't been happening since we started moving these to the Genius Bar. It might be purchasing advice, but it's also a General Discussion kind of thing - talking about good and bad points of each. Even people not necessarily in the market to buy a new machine would probably like to read the threads, and contribute a lot of their knowledge to the thread.
Just ain't happenin' in GB. So, back to General Discussion we go. As of 9:00 am tomorrow, anyone posting a purchasing advice thread in the Genius Bar will be banned immediately.
