Wierd Battery Problem

A few weeks ago the battery in my Pismo was drained completely. When I connected the power supply it provided power but the battery didn't charge at all. It remained like this every time I plugged it in until today; today the battery is charging normally as I type this.



What's going on?

Maybe the battery wasn't in all the way. How old is the battery?
