Deleting/modifying a user in iChat

This should be a simple thing to do, shouldn't it? I can't find anywhere how to dump the name and email address I entered when I first fired up iChat. I'd like to change the name I used, and it won't freakin let me.

I have found info on changing your password, using multiple accounts... but how the heck do I just delete the one currently in use? I used my full name when starting it up, and I want to change it to just my email address now...

Thanks!

Ok... DUH... I found the 2 preference files for iChat in Home/Library/Preferences. I had been looking in just HD/Library/Prefs previously... <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" />

Anyway, another weird problem. Here I am trying to enter my info to set up iChat:

The OK button is greyed out unless I have something in both the first and last name boxes. Is this normal? I see people all the time with a one name username (or their email address). I threw my email address into one of the name fields, but it's greyed out unless I enter something in the last name field as well.

    What the heck?

I just use an empty space for my last name.

I'm in Appleinsider chat right now, come and visit me.

Hmm... if you use iChat with a .mac address, that's what shows up as your username whether you want it to or not...

Try typing [email protected] in both First and Last name. This sound weird to me bacause My last name is blank and my Ok button was not grayed out.

I put a space in for the last name - works fine.

The thing that seems odd to me is that there is no option to go back afterwards and edit the name you put in - other than deleting your iChat preferences and doing it again.
