hi.. i want to install linux on my ibook but i want to know which one iis the 'best'(Gentoo, Suse, etc)??

    I think I have heard that Yellowdog is the best Mac flavour out there. They are a Mac company that only does PPC linux, whereas the others simply maintain a mac version. They also sel some nice modified Mac hardware like the Briq.

    I tried YellowDog Linux on my iBook and I think it sucks. I was going to use it as my secondary OS with Mac OS X as my primary, no "Classic". I couldn't get AirPort to work, sound was a constant problem, and the email client was crap. I ended up reinstalling OS 9 as my alternate OS. At least it worked.



    To be fair, this was my first experience with Linux. I was going to teach myself Linux but there was simply no payoff for me. Mac I understand. Linux - bah!

    with os x, i don't see much use for linux on a mac anymore.
