Is there anyway to get OmniWeb to use Windows Media player and Real One player? I end up having to go back to IE, which is a real pain when I want to watch video in those other formats. Thanks

I don't know about RealOne, but I do know that IE is the only browser that will work with Windows Media at all.

The latest beta of 4.1.1 should work with Real files.

Specifically, here's what the updated info says:

[quote]* Support for the RealOne Plugin and Player:

o We now resolve Mac OS alias files when searching for plugins (Which the RealOne plugin requires in order to be discovered.)

o Added the RealOne Player to the list of applications OmniWeb will launch to handle a completed download. (You need to have the file associated with the correct application in Finder for this to work.)

+ We now set the creator and type information on files downloaded that have the 'audio/x-pn-realaudio' and 'application/x-pn-realmedia' MIME types. This ensures that all RealOne content downloaded will correctly launch in RealOne Player.

Windows Media, on the other hand, will *only* work in IE. The Mozilla folk can't get it working either. Nor iCab nor Opera. The general consensus is that there's some crufty Microsoftian code in the plugin that checks to see if it's loading into a Microsoft browser. Monopoly, anyone?
