Power line AV adaptor

Routers don't work in my town house. Probably too much metal in the walls between the modem / router and my laptop.


 


I'd like to use an AV power line adaptor; however, my Motorola modem has only one Ethernet port and that's connected to my iMac by cable.  The modem does have a USB port, but I don't know of  an adaptor that uses USB.


 


Does anyone have experience with a Mac OS compatible AV adaptor that doesn't require an additional Ethernet cable?
