Finder filename sort (out of order)
The finder sorts long lists of file names in an incorrect order. A long list being 3000+ files.
I am trying to an ascending sort on the filenames of files located on a Windows share.
example:
65955YZO.tif
6595AZO.tif
6596BF9.tif
sorts as:
65955YZO.tif
6596BF9.tif
6595AZO.tif
This would be incorrect assuming the finder is trying to sort the text strings based on the ascii values of each charater. Sorts the same way in all view modes. Performing "ls -l" in a terminal window lists the files correctly.
I understand that there are way too many files in a single directory but I inherited this problem so no comments on that please. We are moving to a content management system soon but for now I have to deal with this.
