ATi Retail Updates: Any good for OEM ATi Cards?

I've heard scattered reports from people who've installed the ATi retail card driver updates on machines that had OEM ATi cards installed...from what I've heard, those people have had some performance boosts as a result...

So, has anyone tried using the ATi retail updaters on their machines with OEM ATi cards? I'd like to know if downloading and installing them is worth my while (I've an AGP G4/400 with a Rage 128pro, btw).

Go for it... It might fix some bugs that have been kicking around. As for a performance boost? I doubt it. At least nothing you'd be able to notice. But then again, you never know.

I would install it just because it might have some small fixes.

If you're looking for a REAL performance boost, grab yourself a new ATI Radeon 8500 card. I just bumped up from a Rage 128 to this card, and WOW. I own a G4 466 machine, and have found it to be a very worthwhile upgrade.
