Powerbook and Projector problem

When I connect my powerbook to a projector, all I see is the desktop pattern ... no icons etc.

I'm using 10.2.2.

Thanks

powerbooks automatically set themselves up to do "montitor spanning"

therefore it's treating the projector as a second monitor, and what you're seeing is ANOTHER desktop.

what you want to do is go to your display control panel and set it up to mirroring.
