I'd like a way to see who has been using my wireless connection to the internet that i have set up in my room. is there any way to track what they have been doing?

I have an ABS...

what about a software base station...

is there any way to know who is using that connection?

TIA

Every wireless router keeps a log of what computers log on to it and when. For my DLink, I access it by browsing the router's internal web pages (192.168.0.1 from a computer connected to it). I presume it's similar for other 3rd party routers.

As for what those people are doing, I think that's a much more complicated question.

you could install some kind of packet sniffer on the line, see what that shows you. you probably don't really want to know.

For a bit of fun, if some of your leeches are sending unencrypted information, try <a href="http://www.etherpeg.org/"; target="_blank">this</a> little app. (Mac OS X version available at bottom of page.)

tonton, if you're going to post pics like that, at least make them big enough so we can see them clearly. Sheesh. Talk about rude...

Oy vey! Good luck in any case. Personally, I'm looking into abandoning the legal field, even though I'm counting on finishing my JD. I've just come to realize that I'd rather be a happy average person with fun hobbies than a high achiever with no free time. There's more to life than work. As the old Romans used to say, carpe diem. You only live once. Why make it boring?

Neither my log, macSniffer or EtherPEG works on my Dlink wireless network. Anybody know why, can it be because I use MAC Adresse Control?

well I tried both, but since I had no luck with MacSniffer (and even my router log is blank), I figured there might be a more general network problem.

And if it's general, maybe someone knows why. I'll try to chmod it later.
