Airport and a Phone

I just got airport for my home, and I was wondering if my cordless phone will interfer with it. Both are 2.4ghz. If it does, is there anything I can do, or do I have to go spend $200 for a 5.8ghz phone?

I can't tell if it is or not. I am only getting 287 kbps download, so I don't know if the phone is making it slower or not.

If you think you might be getting interference, check the channel that both are operating on .... make sure they are at least 4 numbers different for best results ... although at short ranges this shouldn't really matter.

Your phone will try to find an unused frequency range. But if you suspect the phone is interfering with your hub, you can change the channel of the airport card and that will separate the signals.
