help downloading

I have a FP imac running 10.1.5 I was needing to download drivers for my new scanner but wasn't able to. I use IE 5.2.2 I was able to download PDF files but not the drivers. I tried to download the update for IE but couldn't . . . I had to use my other computer and burn the up date to a cd. Any ideas why I can't download these apps???? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

    why can't you download it ?



    does the dl never start ?

    does no file get saved ?

    does it work with other files ?

    the download does not even begin. As I said, pdf files download, streaming video is ok, but I've tried to down load drivers, software updates, etc and they do not even begin to download????

    switch to another browser ?

    delete the preferences for IE ?
