Don't ask how it happened but it did. Vidoe card no longer works, mac still boots up fine. After replacing card with loner from a friend computer is fine. Any hope for salvaging my Geforce 2mx? It's out of warrenty (from apple). Ideas?

Or am I just scragged?

i guess if the card doesn't work and there are no obvious problems, there isn't much you can do unles you know about circuitry

can you PLEASE tell how this happened? forget to turn off the computer, fit of rage that OS X wasn't as fast as 9...filthy drunk?

    A) No they were not screwed in.

    B) Um... I am gonna have to say it was one of those moments where the cord got tugged and in two shakes of a rabbits tail the sucker popper up north and fell over. It sounds lame, but dang it, most stupid things like this are lame.

Wasn't drunk, although am kinda raged about performance.

    Thx for your funny post thought! <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" /> <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

    Where are you?

And do you have any interest in buying my ATI Rage 128 Pro?

It works fine and is actually pretty good, but I'm using complex 3D apps and my sister's playing complex 3D games and we wan't something newer, so I'm asking about £20 for it but I'm willing to haggle.

i wouldn't recommend it, you want something that will work with quartz extreme, and that is a downgrade i believe from ur card that you broke. Get a better card, you'll almost be happy that you did it

Oh sorry I didn't realise his card was better than mine. Do you want to buy mine anyway for any other reason?

I ran out of screws for a PC project and needed to borrow um. I have since replaced them.

Oh, and btw, I just picked up a Geforce 4 MX at WALMART (or all places!) and managed to ge them to pricematch it to $78. Sweet!

Thx for the offer of buying your card, but I really needed somethind bigger.

Glad I have entertianed you folks.

this silly little story reminded me of a stupid thing that happened to me recently. my comp has been fragged by UPS, and the lil' door doesn't lock into place. i was watching a flick once, using the pmac as a footrest of course, and the door [of the comp] swings open furiously, smacks into the ground, and the comp goes off. i nearly had a heart attack. luckily no noticeable damage was done, and the comp started back up without problems. i now have several stitches of electrical tape along the outside holding that damned door in place. worst part is ups hasn't yet reimbursed me for the insurance when they fukked up the case.
