The television awards body did not name the exact Apple technology that was given the nod, but the The Loop's Jim Dalrymple believes it could be related to the company's cloud infrastructure.

Awards are presented to an individual, company, or to a scientific or technical organization for developments and/or standardization involved in engineering technologies which either represent an extensive improvement on existing methods or are so innovative in nature that they materially have affected the transmission, recording, or reception of television.

The technical Emmys are more an Achievement than an award...

The technical Emmys are real, (just like the technical oscars(r)) because the "under the line" movie making part, time is money, therefore the production end of the movie/tv business only uses "gimmicks" if it make things faster. if it makes it the same, the quote "if it is not broken, don't fix it" applies.

the "Emmys" for the Tv shows "above the line"... yes alot of lobbying.. (not sure if the writers are above the line, or below the line)
