New Hard Drive question

I stopped by an Apple Store and they graciously removed the screw from the carrier I was having problems with, it took them 1/2 an hour!



Anyway, I'm now installing the new WD hard drive, it will be the only hard drive in the Powermac, the documentation with the HD gives jumper settings of which the default is cable select, the jumper settings for a single hard drive are different.

Are the settings the same for both PC and Mac? The documentation only gives settings for a PC.

    I'm pretty sure they're the same. I used the generic directions printed on the drive when I got it to have a dual hard drive setup in my G4 before I sold it. That was on a bare OEM drive with no manual.

    Yep, they're the same. You have to set it to 'Master'.
