Two popular iOS titles received updates on Tuesday, with WhatsApp Messenger getting cloud storage backups with Apple's iCloud, while content reader, storage and syncing app Pocket squashes a Twitter related bug.

WhatsApp Messenger, the immensely popular cross-platform, data based messaging service, moves to version 2.10.1, with a new feature that allows storage of chat histories on Apple's iCloud. The function also lets users restore conversations from the cloud backups.

In addition, WhatsApp now has a "multi-send UI" through which users can send multiple photos with one click. The latest version also adds the ability to open other apps via URLs.

It was announced in March that the iOS iteration of WhatsApp would become subscription-based by the end of 2013, bringing the app in line with the service's offerings for Android, BlackBerry, and Windows Phone. That change has already occurred, though the company is offering the first year free for new users.

WhatsApp Messenger for iOS is a free 15.3MB download from the App Store.

Pocket, formerly "Read It Later," also received a small update on Tuesday, bringing a fix for a bug that would crash previous versions of the app if a user retweeted from the tweet attribution pane. As of the latest version 4.5.3, the feature has been restored for all users.

The update offers support for accents and Japanese characters in the tag filter, bug fixes for sharing content via the iOS Mail app, and improved reliability of displaying the Options screen. Other unspecified bug fixes and enhancements are also included.

Pocket comes in at 14.4MB and can be downloaded for free from the App Store.

What's App needs to have a PC/Mac version, and its mobile version needs to be able to run on multiple devices. That's what I really need!
